Elisaveta Balabanova is an assistant professor at the State University for Library Studies and Information
Technologies. She is a Master in Bulgarian philology and has American and English studies as minor. Dr Balabanova defends her PhD thesis in 2007.
The title of her thesis is: Discontinuous constituents in Bulgarian.
Elisaveta Balabanova has participated in several research projects, among which: the project for building the Bulgarian Treebank
(Bultreebank), project of the Institute for Bulgarian language, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: Electronization of lexicographic resources, project
of the Institute for Literature, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: Concepts and problems of the contemporary literary theory.
The research interests of Dr. Balabanova are in the field of Natural Language Processing, contemporary Bulgarian
language, the relation between language and society and the book as an artifact.
